RSR028 - Random Soul Feat. Chuck Love - “Another Day”

The 4th single from the debut artist album of Random Soul, “Another Day” is a beautiful and timeless piece of music. Hailed by many as the most intricate and explorative from the album, the track highlights the musicianship that all 3 artists bring. Chuck’s amazing horn and flute lines, mixed with Paul Winn’s epic guitar solo and rhythm parts, along with Yogi’s steady and soulful voice, are an organic exploration for the senses. This release could also be described as a breath of fresh air in an increasingly electronic infused environment.

On the remix front is the always impeccable “Cool Million”. Hailing from Denmark & Germany, the duo have had numerous artist albums which feature lush 80’s style funk and soulful disco infused tracks, to give them their trademark sound. Their remix is a brilliant combination of soul, disco and boogie, wrapped in clever drums, keyboard & guitar work. This is truly a masterpiece and we’re very proud to have them giving their touch to this song.

The multi-instrumental, very talented Mr “Chuck Love” then steps up and locks in on a late night sleazy rendition of the song. Sticking to his trademark late night vibe, Chuck still manages to incorporate the soulful vibes of the track, but gives it a nasty kick in the pants to make this a perfect track to reach for when looking for a tasty vocal to break the club apart.

Enjoy this unique pack of mixes for “Another Day”, a welcomed adventure in the midst of all this electronica!

RSR027 - Random Soul Feat. Kyla Sexton - “Are We”

‘Are We’ is the 3rd single from Random So ‘Are We’ seems to float effortlessly with the incredible vocals from Kyla Sexton, combined with amazing guitar licks from Paul Winn, of Paul Winn Band. A true classic has been born here, and we know this track will echo for years with true deep and soulful house fans.

On the remix, we have 2 BIG hitters in the house scene, that need little introduction. Scott Diaz and Grammy nominee, Jay-J.

Scott’s mixes are simply amazing! Using his trademark ‘Jackin’ beats combined with a slippery, sliding bass groove and his recognisable vocal cut-ups, this dub packs a punch. Make no mistakes, it’s ready for the club. Scott rarely puts a foot wrong in his productions, and we feel this could be one of his best to date!

Up next is Jay-J. Best known for his combination of sounds between his 2 main residencies, San Francisco and New York, Jay-J has used both of these cities to influence this remix. His trademark soulful touch combined with the upfront beats and bass that help make it a dance floor filler.

RSR026 - Random Soul Feat. Joshua Heath - “Time To Funk”

Welcome to the second single from the amazing debut album from Random Soul, ‘Live For The Moment’. Hailed as the funkiest hip shakers off the album, ‘Time To Funk’ pays tribute to the heads that don’t mind a little jazz and rap to kick start their Saturday night. Featuring the creative vocals from LA’s best known beat hustler, Joshua Heath combined with Random Soul’s synth work and Will Farge’s Tenor sax brilliance, This track is going to be shaking booties like the Fresh Prince of Bell-Air!

First up on the remixes is the talented Jay Vegas. Glitzy by name and by nature, Jay works this track into a peak time house monster. Using clever samples, driving jackin beats and cutting up the sax for a memorable club cut that every house head needs! Joshua Heath then takes us on a sleazy tech house journey with his ‘Heath’s Milk Was A Bad Choice Dub’. While offering a nasty bassline and trippy vocal reworks, this one is a must for those amongst us that don’t mind getting a little sideways. With a funky ‘Random Soul Dub’ rework and an extended DJ friendly mix, this is an all round beefy single that helps remind us all that; If it’s time to funk, then it’s time to dance!

RSR025 - Random Soul - “Live For The Moment”

“Live For The Moment” is the debut album from Random Soul, the Australian house duo of Yogi & Husky. The duo have made a big impression in recent years with releases for labels including Strictly Rhythm, Bargrooves, Salted and Large. The album, released on their own label, Random Soul Recordings, presents an effortless journey through 15 tracks that cement their position amongst the most established names in Deep and Soulful House circles, while also showcasing their talent in creating Soul, Jazz and Funk gems.

“Live For The Moment” incorporates everything from floating vocals and laid-back soulful grooves riddled with live instrumentation, through to bumping, funky club tracks. The album also highlights their talent as songwriters with a string of captivating vocals featuring strong hooks, often performed by Yogi. Six vocal collaborators include well-known West Coast USA artists Chuck Love and Joshua Heath, as well as Natalie Conway, Kristen Pearson, Kyla Sexton and Louis Hale. All are close friends of Yogi & Husky, and the chemistry of the relationships shines through: “Working with friends always makes the job seem more fun too, so doing tracks with people like Joshua Heath and Chuck Love, usually meant more jokes and laughing than ‘work’ per say. We enjoy getting other people in the studio as it creates such a different dynamic”

RSR024 - Random Soul - “Mysterious”

Welcome to the debut single from Random Soul’s long awaited album, “LIVE FOR THE MOMENT”. “MYSTERIOUS” is a funky, soulful bomb that just has to be in the wallet of any DJ/fan that calls themselves a funky house lover. It’s captivating vocals from YOGI, 70’s synth & rhodes work, funk guitar and live bass from NICK NORTON just puts this track in a league of its own. It’s designed to get your body moving and we haven’t stopped since we’ve been playing it!

On the remix is the soulful master himself, RICHARD EARNSHAW. At the top of the soulful house scene for over a decade, it’s easy to see why. Richard offers a clever batch of hybrid remixes, combining his soulful roots and his deeper side with some “SPIRITCHASER” vibes poking through.

We’re delighted to welcome Mr Earnshaw and know that these remixes will be played and loved for many years to come. They are nothing but class a from a classy gentleman of the scene.

“YOGI & HUSKY” then take a turn and get bouncy-ass and all dance floor on their sound. Their mix takes a deeper, bass heavy approach to Mysterious. Using hypnotic chords and building sections, this one is straight to the deep house room, for some big bass action. Don’t be fooled though, it’s not something that’s destined for the side room, cause this can bring the noise in a big room way.
